While Roman Reigns is challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Seth Rollins taking on Randy Orton, and Dean Ambrose participating in the IC title ladder match, they were at one time called The Shield. For today’s countdown match, I wanted to have a match that had them in it and I had to choose this match because this year’s WrestleMania will be their debuts as singles wrestlers. WrestleMania XXIX which took place from Metlife Stadium in New York was the first time The Shield fought as a team at WrestleMania and they took on The Big Show, Randy Orton, and Sheamus. The Shield had been making life a living hell for most of the WWE locker room and the WWE was trying all they could with different combos to see who could stop The Shield. For Orton, Sheamus, and The Big Show, they were wondering if they could trust each other heading into this match considering they were all enemies at one time.
Sheamus and Roman Reigns started off the match and despite Reigns trying to match Sheamus blow for blow, Sheamus dominated the match right away. Orton was tagged in the ring and he continued the teams dominance, but it was over Seth Rollins and after taking it to him, he tagged in Sheamus. The Big Show would tag himself in and he would take it to Dean Ambrose with some big chops. The Shield was finally able to gain an advantage when Dean took out the Big Show with a shot to the knee. At one point, Show was able to make the tag to Sheamus who absolutely cleaned house, but he never accounted for Reigns who was able to end his advantage. The Shield then tried to hit their patent triple powerbomb, but The Big Show speared them. The Big Show was waiting for the tag in the corner from Sheamus when Randy Orton stepped in and stole the tag. That pissed off The Big Show who sat in the corner and after Orton delivered an RKO to Seth Rollins, he was speared by Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose covered him for the pinfall victory. After the match, Show delivered a KO punch to both Orton and Sheamus.
