SummerSlam_2016Tonight is the night that the 29TH annual Summerslam takes place live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. What is so special about tonight’s Summerslam you ask? Well, let’s start with the fact that this is the first pay per view since the split of the brands Raw and Smackdown and it’s the night that the first ever WWE Universal Champion is going to be crowned. That’s right, the WWE’s version of the participation award is going to be decided tonight between a man who deserves to be WWE World Heavyweight Champion in Seth Rollins going against a man that I feel doesn’t belong there yet in Finn Balor. Don’t get me wrong, I think that Finn Balor is going to bring some real excitement to a show that otherwise lacks it, but that doesn’t mean he should be in a title match right away. There are some plus sides to this pay per view even though they are few. One plus side is that we are finally going to see the beast incarnate Brock Lesnar take on the Viper Randy Orton in a much delayed one on one match. This is a match that I feel should have happened last year when it was WrestleMania time. I’m just thankful that we finally get to see it come true even though it could turn out to be a one sided match. I am hoping for Brock to throw Randy into an F5 and when he does Randy counters it with an RKO.

The other plus side to this event in my opinion is that we are going to get to see the showoff Dolph Ziggler get a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose. That promises to be an amazing match with a lot of excitement even though we already know who is going to win that one. The only other match on the card in my opinion that is going to be exciting to watch is the Sasha Banks vs Charlotte match for the WWE Womens Championship. Other than those, a lot of the matches I am either not interested in or are matches that I think could be hit or miss. The last thing I want to say is that I am hoping that the WWE does the right thing and they let AJ Styles win the rivalry between himself and John Cena. There are a lot of matches tonight and I am either pulling for Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon) to show up to be in that match with Natalya and Alexa Bliss or it’s Nikki Bella. Here are my predictions for the night:

Cesaro defeats Sheamus

Sami Zayn and Neville defeat The Dudley Boys

American Alpha, The Hype Bros, and The USOS defeat Breezango, The Ascension, and The Vaudevillians

Seth Rollins defeats Finn Balor

Dean Ambrose defeats Dolph Ziggler

Roman Reigns defeats Rusev

Sasha Banks defeats Charlotte

The Club defeats The New Day

Enzo & Cass defeat Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens

Apollo Crews defeats The Miz

Natalya, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Bella defeat Carmela, Becky Lynch, and Naomi.

Brock Lesnar defeats Randy Orton
