wwe-brackets-finalsThis is it for all of you wrestling fans that have been eagerly awaiting the chance to see who was joining the TNA and Indie wrestlers int he Wrestler Of The Year category. We started with sixteen wrestlers and divided them into two 8 man brackets with the two finalists from each bracket moving on. We are down to the eight that are remaining and we want to cut them down to four. The eight remaining WWE superstars are Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, TJ Perkins, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, and Seth Rollins. Now, I want all of you to remember that we are choosing wrestlers based on their performances from 2016 so it’s basically who had the better year. I know in the end that it probably will be a popularity contest and that is fine. I do want to remind you as well that you can vote multiple times and that you have until January 1ST to decide who you want to move on so choose wisely. I also wanted to let you know that pretty soon, we are going to unveil the Female Wrestler Of The Year category as well as Tag Team Of The Year (which is a first for us).

tournament-logo-copyWe are almost to the point where we are going to find out who is going to be competing for Wrestler Of The Year. We already know who is representing TNA and the indies, but it’s time to figure out who will represent the WWE. We started with two brackets with sixteen wrestlers who all in our opinion had a great 2016. I do want to remind you that while I understand that this will ultimately become a popularity contest, it shouldn’t because it should be based on how well they did in 2016. All of the first round or semi-final round (that’s what we are calling it because two winners come from every group) were chosen at random and we gave you the option to choose who you wanted to move on. You guys voted and voiced your opinions clearly and while I believe some of the results were based on popularity, there were some choices made that were logical choices. For instance, Seth Rollins defeated Finn Balor and it’s justified because Seth clearly had a better year and Finn has been injured for quite some time. Now the popularity contest comes into play when looking at Chris Jericho vs The Miz. The Miz had a stellar 2016 with his IC run and the infamous rant on Smackdown Live, but he got wiped out by Chris Jericho and his list. Check out the rest of the results below b checking out the updated brackets.

tournament-logo-copyUsually with 8 wrestlers in a single bracket, you would say that it’s the quaterfinals, but two wrestlers walk out of each bracket instead of one. The WWE gets four spots in The Wrestler Of The Year category when it’s all said and done which is way we take two from each bracket. I want to remind everyone though that when you only have 16 spots, some wrestlers are left in the cold for those that had more successful years. So, if you’re wrestler is not in this tournament, let’s hope he has a better 2017. Depending on who you are a fan of, this could be a hard tournament to choose from because we have some interesting matchups. One match features Seth Rollins taking on Finn Balor while Baron Corbin takes on AJ Styles. I see a match I wish would happen in real life as NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura takes on Brock Lesnar. The bracket is closed out with Bobby Roode taking on Cruiserweight Classic and former Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins. The second bracket features equally difficult matches as former NXT Champion Samoa Joe takes on current WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, Intercontinental Champion The Miz takes on the legendary Chris Jericho, European Champion Roman Reigns takes on former Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick, and the last match features former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose takes on one half of the Smackdown Live Tag Champions Bray Wyatt. As always choose wisely and you have until Sunday December 25TH to vote for who you want to move on.

Wrestler Of The Year Tournament: The Indies Results

Adam Cole, Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega, Marty Scurll, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring Of Honor, The Monster Entertainment Awards, Tournament, Wrestler Of The Year, Wrestling

tournament-logo-copyWith already one bracket  in the books, it was time to settle another bracket while we wait for the big one. We gave you two brackets full of the best in the Indy scene and you narrowed them all the way to four wrestlers who will take two spots in The Wrestler Of The Year category. In one match, you had Bullet Club member Adam Cole take on the Japanese sensation Kazuchika Okada while Kenny Omega took on The Villain Marty Scurll in another match. The Cole/Okada match came all the way down to the wire as both competitors went back and forth with lead changes, but in the end you voted and Cole took the one by a vote. The other match was a stalemate at first with both Scurll and Omega tied, but then there was a huge burst of votes and Omega took the one by winning 71% of the vote when it was all said and done. So, what this basically means is that The Bullet Club claimed the Indies with both Cole and Omega in the final category as they join Broken Matt Hardy and Bobby Lashley from TNA. Voting for the wrestler of the year will come in 2017, so be on the lookout for that when it comes.

WWE Roadblock: End Of The Line- My Thoughts and Predictions

Perkins, The New Day, Vince McMahon, WWE, WWE Network, WWE Roadblock: End Of The Line

roadblockeotl2016posterIt feel like just a couple of weeks ago, we had a WWE pay per view with one not too long before that one and here we are with another one. This time coming from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA, it’s WWE Roadblock: End Of The Line which is also the third RAW exclusive PPV of the year and the first for the brand new Cruiserweight exclusive show 205 Live. It may be the second Roadblock event the WWE has put on, but it’s the first time the company has put it on PPV as well which if you re still buying PPV’s on the TV, then you are absolutely crazy. I am going to be 100% honest and say that this could be a decent PPV that the company throws, but I don’t have any high hopes. The only match(s) that I am looking forward to is the 30 minute Ironwoman match (I am being politically correct) between Sasha Banks and Charlotte. But to be brutally honest, I am getting kind of sick of this match because we’ve seen this too many times before. Is the WWE going to give Sasha an actual run with the belt or will Charlotte just do what she always does which is win at PPV’s while losing the belt on RAW. I will say that the WWE needs to make a decision on who they are going with because I am not even sure they can carry a 30 minute match. Not trying to be offensive in saying that, but those are hard matches to pull off anyways.

rollinsy2jOne of the other matches that I am looking forward to is the Chris Jericho/Seth Rollins match just because these guys have been performing phenomenally all the time. It’s almost a guaranteed great match when you throw Jericho or Rollins into the mix. Plus, their story line has been more interesting than Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens. You’ll get a decent match out of them, but does anyone really care to see Roman win? I am also looking forward to the Triple Threat Cruiserweight Championship match as Rich Swann defends the belt against both T.J. Perkins and The Brian Kendrick. That could potentially be a great match, but the crowd probably won’t be into it as usual. I am also interested to see if this is it for The New Day who are currently the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE History at 483 (Demolition’s was 478). Cesaro and Sheamus have been on the same page for quite some time now and they look like they could possibly be the ones to do it tonight. Now I don’t understand why anyone would care to see a match between Rusev and Big Cass? It’s the most uninteresting match, but it could be a potential change in direction for Big Cass cause you know Vince likes his big men. The Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman match is another uninteresting match in my opinion while Vince tries to stroke that David vs Goliath angle one more time. The match of the night award I am going to predict is going to go to Jericho and Rollins. Here are my predictions for the night:

Rusev will defeat Big Cass on the Pre-show

Cesaro and Sheamus will win the tag team titles

Sasha Will Defeat Charlotte

Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman end in a draw

Rich Swann retains the belt tonight

Kevin Owens will defeat Roman Reigns

Seth Rollins will defeat Chris Jericho

For other picks or if the WWE throws a match all of a sudden on the pre-show that wasn’t listed before, you can go to my Twitter page or the Facebook page to see who I picked that isn’t listed here. Enjoy the PPV and let’s hope for the best.

tournament-logo-copyThis is what it all boils down to if you are a fan of Indy wrestling or just wrestling in general. We started off with 16 Indy wrestlers from promotions like Ring Of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Lucha Underground, Revolution Pro Wrestling, and now we are down to four wrestlers competing for two spots in the 2016 Wrestler Of The Year category. In one match, we have Japanese sensation Kazuchika Okada who goes to battle against Bullet Club member Adam Cole. Both roads for the two were paved rather easily, but this one is promising to be one for the ages. The other finals match features “The Villain” Marty Scurll who scratched and clawed his way to the finals to take on a man who has had a rather easy road in Bullet Club leader Kenny Omega. Is Marty going to hold on to win or is Kenny going to walk away with another easy win. Now is your time to vote for who you want to see in the end and you have until Wednesday to do so so vote wisely.

tournament-logo-copyAll of you had the chance to vote for who would move on to the Wrestler Of The Year category in the upcoming month or so as far as TNA was concerned and you definitely let your voices be heard. I kept hearing for weeks that there were only two guys that deserved to come out of this bracket and you voted and it came true. Both matches were definitely a no contest as Broken Matt Hardy easily dispatched of EC3 while Bobby Lashley did the same to Brother Nero (Jeff Hardy). So now Bobby Lashley and Broken Matt Hardy will now wait to find out who they will be joined with from the WWE and The Indies and with the way the indies tournament is turning out, the category is going to be one for the ages for the Monster Entertainment Awards. So stay tuned for that as soon as The WWE and Indy brackets are complete.

tournament-logo-copyAfter two rounds, we are getting closer to the point where we find out exactly who is competing for Wrestler Of The Year. We had some interesting and tough matches for you guys to choose from or at least matches we thought would be tough. One match that was a complete blowout from the first bracket featured Adam Cole who took on Will Ospreay. Now the way the first round went, I thought this would be a close match, but Adam Cole never gave him a chance. The other match in the first bracket featured Kazuchika Okada taking on the technical wizard Zack Sabre Jr. Now I thought this one was going to be super close due to how great of a year both of them had, but Zack could only secure a vote meaning that Okada moves on to the finals. In the other bracket, we had a little of the same, but there was one match that was close. “The Villain” Marty Scurll went head to head with Yijiro Kushida in one of the closet battles of the whole tournament. At first it looked like Scurll had this in the bag, but then Kushida came back strong, but not enough to put him away as Scurll walked away with the win. Kenny Omega was in the other match with Kyle O’Reilly, but Omega pitched the shut out and means he moves on to the finals. So, with that being said, Let’s check out the brackets for the finals below and be on the lookout for the chance to vote on them coming soon.

tournament-logo-copyThis is truly the one you have all been waiting for because this is the official unveiling of the WWE brackets. There are two brackets and sixteen WWE competitors with four final spots in the end to be claimed. So much like the TNA bracket, they will compete all the way to what is traditionally the semi-finals. Once four wrestlers (two from each bracket) reaches the semis, it is over and those four will claim the final four spots for the Wrestler Of The Year category. The WWE gets four spots while TNA gets two and the indies get two. The sixteen wrestlers are as follows and we tried to base them off performance overall in the year as Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Austin Aires, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Bobby Roode all represent NXT. Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Brian Kendrick, TJ Perkins, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, The Miz, and Kevin Owens represent the main roster. Now there were only 16 spots in the tourney overall so if you’re favorite didn’t make it here, hopefully he has an outstanding 2017 to make it next time. Right now this is just the unveiling of the Brackets for all of you to ponder and think about who you will vote for. Of course, each person and match up was chosen at random with names being picked out of hat. There are some interesting match ups and some that I wouldn’t mind seeing come to reality in the future. So without further ado, here are the brackets:

Bobby Lashley, Braxton Sutter, Broken Matt Hardy, Brother Nero, DJ Z, EC3, Eddie Edwards, Ethan Carter III, Jeff Hardy, Mike Bennett, TNA, TNA Impact Wrestling, Tournament, Wrestler Of The Year, Wrestling

tournament-logo-copySo it is that time of the week again, but this one is a little different than the Indy bracket and we will explain. The TNA bracket comes down to the final two wrestlers moving on because they get two spots in the final Wrestler of the year category that all of you will vote on again. So, we started with eight and now we are down to four left and only two get to move on so you have to make your decisions wisely. The first round seemed almost like a no brainer as to who should move on, but now it’s going to get tougher because two will go home empty handed. In one match we have the awesome Broken Matt Hardy who deleted Eddie Edwards taking on EC3 (Ethan Carter III) who made short work of DJ Z. Int he last match of the bracket, we have Broken Brother Nero (Jeff Hardy) who also deleted his opponent in Mike Bennett taking on Bobby Lashley who laid waste to Braxton Sutter. Who are you going to vote for and who gets to compete with the indy wrestlers and the WWE wrestlers next year? Only you can decide that and you have until Friday to do so.
