759104-1After watching Ring Of Honor’s biggest show of the year in Final Battle on Friday, there is only one thing that I am hoping for out of tonight’s WWE TLC 2018 and that is some solid performances with a shot of the right decisions made. We are steadily approaching the Road to WrestleMania so the proper story lines need to be planted now. When the clock strikes 7PM ET at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, the tenth annual TLC will kickoff and there is quite the list of matches on the card and I am not even sure if there is a pre-show match. Out of all the matches on the card tonight, let’s be 100% honest with each other because you know just as well as I do that there is only one match that we are all chomping at the bit to see and that is Becky Lynch vs Auska vs Charlotte in the first ever women’s TLC match. This has been the most exciting television for the WWE in a very long time whether they like to admit it or not, but Becky Lynch is the man of the company now. She is not only making women’s wrestling exciting, but she is make the WWE exciting again. I am also predicting that this will headline TLC and it will be match of the night.

Ronda-Rousey-Nia-JaxNow that I was able to get that off of my chest we should take a look at the rest of the card that has matches ranging everywhere from interesting to who cares. The first match I am saying who cares to is the Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax match because you know damn well that Nia is not winning the title tonight. Ronda will be walking into WrestleMania with the belt and she’ll be taking on one of the losers of tonights WWE TLC match in the main event. A match that has definitely peaked my interest is the triple threat match for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships. ow  that we’ve seen these competitors in plenty of tag team matches, but have The USOS, New Day, or Cesaro & Sheamus ever really disappointed you? These are three of the best tag teams on Smackdown right now and they’ll prove it once again tonight. Another match that I say who cares about is the Mixed Match Challenge match. The only thing that sucks about a series that no one has followed are the implications that winning it provides which is the number 30 spot in the Royal Rumble respectively.

20181203_TLC_BryanStyles-a6876e25834c419cc94bdce1b8fecc5dYou know Braun Strowman will not be showing up to TLC to take on Baron Corbin due to elbow surgery so I think that Bray Wyatt makes the return tonight in his place. It has been a while since we’ve seen the eater of worlds and he needs the proper push plus Vince is making an appearance which either means he is firing Corbin or making him the permanent general manager. Corbin’s cronies all have matches tonight as well and those should be decent matches as Drew McIntyre takes on Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley takes on Elias. 205 Live will make another appearance on a WWE PPV as Buddy Murphy defends his belt against Cedric Alexander in what should be a good match as well. One match that you know will be good, but I am just not impressed with his heel turn is the WWE Championship match between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles. You know these two are going to deliver tonight, but will anyone still care about Daniel being a heel? Well, the answer is maybe because it is growing on me a little bit. I just thinking making it happen the same week that Dean turned on Seth was a bad idea.

wwe-tlc-2018-match-card-758x332Speaking of Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins, this is just there rivalry from a few years back renewed, but with the roles reversed as Seth is now the face who was betrayed by his partner who is now the heel. Way to go WWE on being so creative with your storytelling skills, but I will still watch the match because these two are money in my opinion. I am a huge fan of the Riott Squad which means that the veteran Natalya should be there to put Ruby over tonight in their tables match especially after the segment on this past week’s Raw. I’m just saying that there is no better person than Natalya to put Ruby over at a PPV. I am not sure if I throw this next one in the I don’t care lot, but I am not sure I am even excited to see Randy Orton vs Rey Mysterio to be perfectly honest. I’m definitely glad to see Rey back in the company, but that is only because I want my dream match of Kalisto vs Rey Mysterio. I am also definitely happy that Randy got his killer instinct back, but I could pass on this one. I think this should be a decent PPV with a lot of good spots, but the question is where is the WWE going with the company moving forward. Check out my predictions below and be sure to follow the Twitter account for a new Podcast project that I will be apart of in 2019 called Five Star Wrestling:

Ruby over Natalya

Charlotte over Auska and Becky

Ronda Rousey over Nia Jax

Rey Mysterio over Randy Orton

Carmella and R-Truth over Alicia Fix and Jinder Mahal

Buddy Murphy over Cedric Alexander

Elias over Bobby Lashley

Drew McIntyre over Finn Balor

Baron Corbin Over Bray Wyatt (I know better than to think that this is where Lars Sullivan will make his debut because it won’t happen)

Daniel Bryan over AJ Styles

Dean Ambrose over Seth Rollins

The USOS over The Bar and The New Day

WWE Money In The Bank 2018- My Thoughts and Predictions

Money_in_the_bank_2018_official_posterAs the WWE rolls into the Allstate Arena in Chicago for the Ninth annual Money In The Bank PPV, here are some of the things you can expect to happen tonight. As awesome as it sounds to have a match between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey, we all know that Ronda is not walking out of Chicago with the title. I also do not think that she is necessarily going to lose either, but I do think that there is going to be outside interference that will put an end to the match. It is still too early in her career for her to be crowned a champion and I feel like the WWE is still just getting started on Nia’s dominant run as WWE Raw Women’s Champion. I am hoping that tonight is the last that we are going to see of Shinsuke Nakamura challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Championship. I am hoping that the WWE has come to it’s senses and that they have finally decided what they are going to do with the belt. I mean what are you going to do with it? Are you going to have AJ retain somehow? Or are you going to finally put the strap behind Shinsuke who will honestly do better with it than Jinder Mahal.

7b9f3-1528986505-800I Honestly do not see Carmella walking out of MITB with the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. I get that she cashed in and was able to win the title that way, but I do not see her handing Asuka a loss on her record. I honestly think her championship run ends tonight and let the dominance begin. As much as most of the wrestling world hates Roman Reigns and as much of the reports we hear that maybe Vince has woken up like Matt Hardy, I still think Vince is big on Roman and he’s walking out with a win. Sami Zayn has to be on someone’s shit list because as much as I’d love to see him beat Bobby Lashley, it’s not going to happen despite his poor mic skills. I am having a hard time deciding who I want to win the IC Match because while I like Elias, I am still a huge fan of Seth’s and he is making the IC belt legitimate. That is the only reason why I see Seth walking out as IC Champion, sorry Elias. I don’t understand the point of having this rivalry between Big Cass and Daniel Bryan only because there are better opponents for Daniel on this dream run.

Top-image40-866x487The only thing left to be talking about are the two Money In The Bank ladder matches for the men and the women. In the men’s match, we have Finn Balor, The Miz, Rusev, Braun Strowman, Bobby Roode, Kevin Owens, and a member of New Day to be decided at the event. In reality, I’d love it to be Big E Langston in the match, but Kofi would be cool to see as well. The only person I would want to see win this match is Braun Strowman, but there is a very good chance that it’s Finn Balor that walks out with the briefcase. I just feel that he is destined to have another shot at the WWE Universal Championship. The women’s match features Charlotte, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Ember Moon, Lana, Natalya, Sasha Banks, and Naomi. I don’t understand how there is no one from the Riot Squad or what was left of Absolution in this match, but instead we have the old order and one newbie in Ember Moon. The WWE gave Carmella the briefcase twice last year so do not be surprised if Lana somehow pulls this off, but I am routing for Ember Moon to win the match. Check out my predictions below:

Seth over Elias

Roman over Jinder

The Bludgeon Brothers over Gallows & Anderson

Daniel over Big Cass

Lashley over Zayn

Asuka over Carmella

Shinsuke over AJ Styles

Ronda over Nia by DQ

Ember Moon wins the women’s MITB

Finn Balor wins the men’s MITB

BackLASH(2k18)Things are changing in the WWE and we got a preview of it with The Greatest Royal Rumble where both brands will no longer have a solo pay per view. I can’t say that I am entirely disappointed in the WWE’s decision to do this because some PPV’s were rather lackluster at times, but what does this mean for everyone else heading into tonight’s WWE Backlash? What it means is that superstars from both rosters will be fighting to get a spot on a PPV whereas before it would be easier to do with the WWE needing to fill the slots on the specific cards. Is this the best thing? Maybe not, but it will tell you is that the end of the roster split could be over which means guys will be buried. This could also spell the end of the Universal Championship, but that remains to be seen. The WWE heads into the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ with a pretty stacked card thanks to this new change. The obvious stand out match in my opinion tonight will be the No Disqualification match between WWE Champion AJ Styles and the new and improved Shinsuke Nakamura. Is this finally the day that Shinsuke will reign supreme making his turn to the dark side the right choice after all or will the WWE just not take a chance on the man. It’s frustrating because they put a title around the waste of Jinder Mahal and that turned out to be a major flop. The WWE needs to make up it’s mind and give guys that deserve a shot at the top the chance like Cesaro or Nakamura. Vince is just burying his baby a little more and Triple H is looking like the genius with NXT.

maxresdefaultThe other match that has me intrigued because it may just turn out to be a match of the night contender is the one between Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins who puts the title on the line against The Miz. Even though we can kind of guess where the WWE is going to go with this match, it’s almost a no brainer that these two men are going to entertain you in the ring with the story they will tell. I am not entirely sure what the connection or the reasoning behind Daniel Bryan and Big Cass is, but I think I am like the rest of you in saying I am just happy to see Daniel Bryan wrestling in a WWE ring again. Now, if we could only convince CM Punk to come back, we would have more dream matches to come. I am also happy to see Big Cass make a comeback and I think it says something about where Vince’s head is at considering all the possible options he could have given Daniel Bryan. Instead, he chose to insert the big guy in there after missing almost a year which means everyone else has to wait. I think the only person that people want to see win the most tonight is Samoa Joe who gets his shot at the “Big Dog” Roman Reigns. He didn’t get over at WrestleMania or the Greatest Royal Rumble so let’s put him against the one man that the people actually want to succeed in the returning Samoa Joe. This is the thought process that goes on in this company and you can definitely see what frustrates the fans time and time again. It seemed that Carmella was over when she cashed in her Money In The Bank contract for the Smackdown Women’s title, but I am not so sure she walks out with it tonight. Then again, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay could prove to be thorns in her side tonight.

maxresdefault 2The match between Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax and her challenger Alexa Bliss is a match that we actually care about because we respect the two of them. Alexa was one of the best champions in recent history because they didn’t constantly play hot potatoes with the strap, but how serious is the company with Nia Jax as champ? I think that Nia deserves her run as Champion to showcase how much of a dominant force that she is. The tag team match that features Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman taking on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn could be a match that sets something up like a feud between Lashley and Strowman or this is giving Strowman something to do. I don’t really understand the idea behind their pairing, but I am hoping for a match. I don’t think it’ll happen tonight, but look for it in the future. I think that Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy could be a decent match, but file this under I’m not expecting much out of it. The final match to talk about is the pre-show match that sees Ruby Riot taking on Bayley which will breathe new life into the Raw Women’s roster. I’d love to see Ruby take the win to set up an actual feud between the two, but we’ll see. As I said before, the combining of the two for every PPV gives the WWE a shot at giving you the best possible PPV every month instead of two PPV’s where one might be a home run versus the other. I’ll be tuning in and I suggest that you do as well. Check out my predictions below:

Ruby Riot Over Bayley

Nia Jax over Alexa

Carmella Over Charlotte

Shinsuke Nakamura Over AJ Styles

Jeff Hardy over Randy Orton

Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman over Owens and Zayn

Seth Rollins over The Miz

Samoa Joe over Roman Reigns

Daniel Bryan over Big Cass

WWE WrestleMania 34- My Thoughts and Predictions

WrestleMania34ALTI don’t know if this is the least excited I have ever been for a WrestleMania in my life. Last year, I was at WrestleMania 33 and I had the time of my life watching it in person and enjoying it. This year, I just feel like WrestleMania 34 which takes place from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans could be one of the more disappointing ones in history. The event just boasters a very lackluster lineup of matches that no one wants to see and matches that we have seen before. For example, we already saw Roman Reigns take on Brock Lesnar for a title at WrestleMania 31 and the best decision they made that night was having Seth Rollins cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase. Does anyone really care about the Ronda Rousey/Kurt Angle vs Stephanie McMahon/Triple H match? The only smart thing they did was not have her face any of the Women’s roster because hopefully her in ring skills are better than her mic skills cause that needs a lot of work. There are a lot of matches on the card that look interesting, but a lot are just not that exciting. One thing is for sure, I only want the American Bad Ass version of The Undertaker showing up tonight to confront John Cena.

styles-vs-nakamuraThe only interesting matches that are on the card is obviously the return of Daniel Bryan to ring action when he teams with Shane McMahon to take on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. It has been a long time since we’ve seen Daniel fight anyone and i am sure the crowd will be pumped up for that one. The match that sees The Miz defend his Intercontinental Championship against Seth Rollins and Finn Balor should be a match of the night contender right along the dream match. The dream match of course is the rematch between Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE Champion AJ Styles. The last time these two met, it was Wrestle Kingdom 10 in Japan and that match was out of this world. Now, we get to see it in a WWE ring and it should tear the roof off the Superdome. While I am not really looking forward to it, I am interested to see if the WWE does what we expect them to do when it comes to Charlotte vs Asuka. We expect the WWE to allow Asuka to continue her undefeated streak especially after the fact that she won the Mixed Match Challenge with The Miz.Are they going to allow Charlotte to be the one that ends the streak? Who knows, but I seriously doubt it.

WrestleMania-34-SD-TagDoes anyone really still care that the Andre The Giant battle royal is still happening? I don’t think so and I think they ruined it last year giving Mojo Rawley the win, but it also proved that winning that means nothing in the business as far as your future cause Jinder Mahal was WWE Champion. The WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal took a huge hit when it was forced to change it’s name from The Fabulous Moolah Memorial Tournament to that. I don’t disagree with the name change, but that was bad Mojo for the battle royal itself. You know the Triple threat match over on Smackdown Live looks awfully familair to me, but oh yea it’s the same match we have seen time and time again, but this time with The Bludgeon Brothers added into the mix. The one question that I have for this match is are they keeping the titles with The Usos or are they going to push The Bludgeon Brothers? I’m not completely sure in what direction the WWE is going to go in with Nia Jax taking on Alexa Bliss only because I’m wondering if they are going to give Nia her shot at being a champion or not?

cruiserpreshowI am a little excited to see Mustafa Ali take on Cedric Alexander for the vacant Cruiserweight Championship because Cedric has definitely earned his shot at being champion in my opinion. You know what I want to see tonight as well is Rusev celebrate Rusev Day at WrestleMania walking out US Champion again! I am definitely curious who Braun Strowman chose as his tag team partner to take on Raw WWE Tag Champs Sheamus and Cesaro because there are a lot of names being thrown around. If you ask me, there is a part of me that wants to see Bray with him, but Braun doesn’t need Bray because he has his own star power. I am a huge fan of Bray Wyatt, but the WWE sealed his fate. Anyways, while I may have said that I am not excited for a lot of the matches on the card, I hope the WWE does pull this off and they have an amazing show. I love WrestleMania and always have since the first one I watched which was WrestleMania III. Enjoy the show and here are my predictions for tonight.

Cedric over Mustafa

Becky Lynch wins women’s battle royal

Tye Dillinger wins Andre The Giant Battle royal

Roman over Brock

Asuka over Charlotte

Alexa over Nia

Seth will win the IC Belt

Braun and partner win Tag team titles

The USOS retain

Booby Roode regains his US title

Shinsuke over AJ Styles

Kurt and Ronda over Triple H and Stephanie

Sami and Kevin over Daniel and Shane

20171207000435!WWE_Clash_of_Champions_2017_PosterTonight, the WWE visits my backyard when Clash Of Champions 2017 makes it’s way to the TD Garden in Boston, MA for what is starting to look like a decent pay per view. At the time of writing this article, there were only five matches on the card and those are the ones that I am going to be writing about as far as my thoughts and predictions. For any last minute predictions when matches are announced, you can check them out on my Twitter page. The true appeal of the night for me lies in the WWE Tag Team Title match that sees The USOS defend their championships in a fatal four way match that also features The New Day, Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin, and Rusev & Aiden English. The tag team division has been exciting on both sides of the spectrum, but The USOS have been one of the more interesting teams. The WWE would be smart in an attempt to try and build that division up because it’s whats best for business. I really feel that Dolph Ziggler is on his way out, I just believe that he is biding his time until then. With that being said, I think he’ll perform at a high level, but he is not walking out with the US Championship because that will be between Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode.

clash of championsA match that I truly do not know what to choose as far as an outcome is the match between Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura taking on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Are Zayn and Owens on their way out over some supposed “trouble” or is this just and angle to make us think that they are? With Shane McMahon as the special guest referee, I believe that anything is possible. Am I excited that Jinder Mahal, the man who was WWE Champion only because the WWE tried to get over in India, gets another shot at the WWE Championship? No is the answer to that question, but I have faith that the WWE will make the right decision and that AJ will make Jinder look good once again. The Lumberjill match between WWE Smackdown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte and Natalya is one of the least interesting matches to me for some reason on the card. The only thing that could brighten up this match is a cash in attempt by Carmella or some interference by The Riot Squad (Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan). Again, this should be a decent night of wrestling, but anything can happen in the WWE!

booNow the WWE since the time that I wrote this article added a pre-show match in Zack Ryder taking on Mojo Rawley in a battle of former partners which we have seen before in the WWE. Unfortunately in some situations, one will end up being Marty Jannety while the other one hopes to be Shawn Michaels and none of these two have it in my opinion. If you are a fan of corny 1980’s style tag teams then the next match they added may appeal to you in the form of The Bludgeon Brothers (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan) taking on one of my current favs in Breezango. I am hoping for a serious run for Breezango because those dudes deserve something and let’s build up the tag team division WWE instead of the God forsaken XFL. Nonetheless as I said before, it should be a decent PPV, but nothing like Survivor Series in my opinion. Here are my predictions to the matches below:

Mojo Rawley will defeat Zack Ryder

The Bludgeon Brothers will defeat Breezango

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will defeat Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura

Charlotte will retain her WWE Smackdown Live Womens Championship

Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable will win the Tag Team Titles

Bobby Roode will win the US Championship

AJ Styles will retain the WWE Championship

SummerSlam_2017It is not too often that a WWE pay per view gets so much hype (more than Mojo Rawley) and fails harder than Zack Ryder. That was my thought regarding last nights more boring than Corbin PPV SummerSlam 2017. Last night, the WWE had a chance to start building their future with future stars like Baron Corbin, Rusev, and Shinsuke Nakamura, but they did the exact opposite. They certainly buried Rusev who lost in minutes after a simple RKO ended the match in ten seconds. They did that to Baron Corbin who had already lost the MITB briefcase on the previous Smackdown Live and then you have him lose cleanly to a guy who quite frankly didn’t need the win even though it was Cena’s first win at Summerslam since 2010. I was pleased to see that the WWE finally put the Smackdown Women’s title around the waist of someone who deserves it in Natalya (her first title in six years). I was rather upset that they put the Raw Women’s Championship around the waste of a superstar who just isn’t boss enough to hold it considering she ignores whatever fans she has left. One thing though is for certain and that is if you want to view SummerSlam skip all the matches and just watch AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs Cesaro & Sheamus, and watch the Fatal Four Match because those matches saved the night from being a total disaster.

aI do however have a piece of advice for the WWE, if you want losses from Bray Wyatt to mean anything then you have to let him win some times otherwise what are you doing with a guy who started out the year WWE Champion? You see I am really starting to think that it may be time for Vince McMahon to start handing down the reigns to others like the proven Triple H who has turned NXT into a dynamite show that delivers every single time. Can you imagine a WWE that is run by that mastermind? I know I could and I think I am ready to see it happen very soon otherwise we are going to be force fed crap result sand unworthy champions. The fatal four way match delivered in every way and it just felt like a big match main event which is what you want. I am just waiting to see if the WWE books Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman because that needs to happen like now. Is anyone going to called up from NXT tonight on Monday Night Raw? We can only wait and see. As far as my predictions, I went 5-8 in this PPV and I am happy with it because it just proves my point and some of the people I wanted to win did. SummerSlam_2017It’s that time of the year again when things start to slow down because it’s almost the end of the summer. WrestleMania 33 has already come and go as it happened four months ago so what do we need to keep us in the spirit of summer? Well, lets give us the second biggest PPV behind WrestleMania in SummerSlam which comes to us once again from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Now this year’s event can go one of two ways in my opinion with one of them being that it turns into a total disaster of an event or they make things right to set the road to WrestleMania. We all know the matches we would like to see happen at WrestleMania 34, it’s whether they get it right at this pay per view that sets the tone. One of the first things I want to talk about is the selection of pre-show matches that they decided. First you have the new cruiserweight champion in Akira Tozawa defending the belt against the man he beat for it in Neville. Then you have The New Day defending their Smackdown Tag Team titles against former champs The Usos. The last match of the pre-show features The Hardy Boyz teaming up with Kurt Angle’s son Jason Jordan as they take on The Miz and the Miztourage (Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas). The only argument that I am going to make is that The New Day match does not belong on the pre-show card because you know they are going to give you an excellent match that is worthy of opening the PPV and setting the pace. I can understand the Hardys only because The Revival is out of the picture due to an injury which means they had nothing to do, but unfortunately one of the best heels is relegated to the pre-show. The cruiserweight match is their quite simply because it’s a pre-show title match. You don’t believe me, just look at past PPV’s dating all the way back to WrestleMania 33. The match that I would have thrown in place of the New Day match is the Smackdown Women’s Championship match only because its not as interesting of a match as the Raw Women’s title and Naomi just does not have star talent in my opinion.

showcassenzoThe rest of the card is pretty stacked if you ask me although they are a couple of uninteresting matches on the card. I think the whole world is ready to see the uninteresting reign of Jinder Mahal come to a close and the era of strong style to rise to the top. You know you want this because it could set up a mega match between Shinsuke and AJ Styles at WrestleMania. I honestly feel bad for The Big Show who gets to work a program with Big Cass who it already looks like the WWE has lost faith in and expect to go close to 20 minutes especially if the rumors of this being a punishment to Enzo Amore for his recent troubles being truth. One match that is going to be interesting to see at SummerSlam is the match between John Cena and Baron Corbin only because the way the match goes and the result could speak a 1000 words as far as where Baron’s career is going considering he already lost the MITB briefcase. I am not 100% sure how I feel about the Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks feud that is happening, but the fact that they don’t like each other in real life has me interested enough in it then I do the other women’s match.

WWE_SummerSlam_2017_bodyOne of my favorite feuds that is going on in the WWE features two of my favorites on the whole roster in the WWE in Kevin Owens and AJ Styles. I am at the point that it would not bother me if AJ drops the belt tonight or not because I know you are getting a guaranteed great match especially with Shane O’Mac as the special guest referee. Randy Orton vs Rusev is another throw away match in my opinion, but you can only hope that Randy makes Rusev look good tonight in the ring otherwise we’ll be chanting out we want Lana (as your valet/Manager of course). I am honestly hoping that the WWE makes the right choice tonight as far as The New Face of Fear vs The Demon match is concerned. Bray deserves to be at the top of the company and so doesn’t Finn, but I am invested in a future with Bray Wyatt. Granted his WrestleMania match with Randy Orton was horrible, but not every match is a home run. As far as the big main event is concerned, we all know that there are rumors out there of the next PPY featuring a main event that is Brock Lesnar taking on Braun Strowman. The Beast Incarnate taking on the Monster Among Men, but the only question now if that’s true is who walks out WWE Universal Champion? If that is the case (and hear me out), I think it would be awesome for Braun to win the title tonight and defend it clean (ish) against Brock at the next PPV before Brock goes to do his UFC thing again. Now the rest is up to the company to decide as far as what direction they decide to take tonight, but I will definitely be tuning in for sure. Here are my predictions and just an FYI, if you don’t see my predictions on this blog, just follow me on Twitter for my predictions twitter.com/@MrXPunchOut for those.

WWE-house-of-Horrors-Randy-Orton-Bray-Wyatt-600x250Last Sunday at WWE Payback, we had what I was calling both an interesting match and a throw away match when Bray Wyatt met WWE Champion Randy Orton in a House Of Horrors match. It was an interesting match because it was a no holds barred match that started in a house somewhere and finished in the ring later on. It was a throwaway match because it was a non title match and both of them were on separate shows. When the match started, Orton pulls into the driveway and gets out of the limo and enters the house. The match soon turns into a sequence from a horror film with cutaway shots and laughter from baby dolls that you obviously know are not making the noises. They attacked each other with Bray running away into a different room when things got tough. Before Bray took off, they battled in the kitchen where it looked like Randy would have the upper hand until Bray dropped the fridge on top of him. When we got back to the arena, Randy was suddenly there as he blasted away at Bray. When he coiled up to hit what we thought would be an RKO didn’t happen because The Bollywood Boys provided a distraction. Enough of a distraction that when he got rid of them, Jinder Mahal was there to hit him with the title that allowed Bray to get the win. It was a decent match that had no meaning in my opinion towards the future. Aiden English, Charlotte Flair, Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, Main Event Madness, Raw, Rusev, Sami Zayn, Shining Stars, Sin Cara, Smackdown Live, Superstar Shakedown, Tamina Snuka, The New Day, Tye Dillinger, WWE

1Round two of last night’s Superstar Shakeup has come and gone and I can’t help, but feel that Smackdown got the raw end of the stick. I mean you look at who Raw acquired and you immediately think improvement to Vince’s baby which has been lagging for a while behind Smackdown Live. Then you look at who Smackdown Live acquired with the only major ones being Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Charlotte, and The New Day. Rusev will be an interesting addition to the show, but he’s injured. Tamina Snuka hasn’t wrestled in a while and Lana is now going to be a wrestler? The Shining Stars, Sin Cara, and Jinder Mahal? Really? That is who Smackdown Live gets in place of the studds that left? Oh wait, they also got Bryon Saxton for the commentary team while David Otunga moves to Raw which makes no sense at all. Nevertheless, there was a match that featured new acquisition from NXT Tye Dillinger taking on a lonesome Aiden English in a one on one match for Smackdown Live. Aiden was already in the ring when it came to the match and he attempted to sing for the crowd until he was interrupted by the perfect ten.

4Tye started off the match outsmarting English and showing him up with his ten chants which only seemed to anger the former Vaudevillian. Aiden would take control of the match and he started punishing the perfect 10 with rights and lefts to the head and midsection. After a little too much showboating, his advantage disappeared in the blink of an eye and Dillinger was on a roll with an Irish whip to the corner followed by a smash and some kicks to the chest. That only set him up for the inevitable which was the Tyebreaker and that was all she wrote as Tye walked away with another win on Smackdown Live. Tye is a very good addition to the WWE roster and I am anxious to see what he offers to the WWE roster. Hey, don’t forget to like our page on Facebook at Facebook.com/MRXPUNCHOUT and while you are it why don’t you follow us on Twitter too.

WWE Fastlane 2017- My Final Thoughts

Official_WWE_Fastlane_2017_posterI was absolutely beside myself last night at the way the WWE treated it’s top and very best heel in Kevin Owens last night. The man who has been carrying Raw for months as the WWE Universal Champion loses in 22 seconds? Are you kidding me Vince McMahon? The two of them should have had a match where Owens was able to showcase what he could do against Oldberg. The WWE just loves to put championships on part timers who are barely part timers as it is. Now we have to endure a match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania that is going to be for the title. Another decision that upset me was the fact that the WWE had Braun Strowman lose to Roman Reigns only because I felt that Braun should have gone into Mania with some momentum, but Vince still believes in Roman Reigns. The only match that I was not upset about last night was the women’s championship match as the WWE finally decided to stop playing hot potato with the title. Now Bayley can realize her dream of entering WrestleMania as WWE Women’s Champion. The rest of the night in my opinion was forgettable at best with a couple of matches added as The Big Show beat up on Rusev and Cesaro beating up on Jinder Mahal.

3As far as the points card was concerned, I finished with 63 points out of a possible 116 which is a mere 54% and that is a failing grade. I will remind you as well that the card didn’t feature the matches Cesaro and The Big Show had and it also didn’t feature the pre-show match too. As far as predicting the outcome of matches, I finished the night 8-2 (two of them I predicted on Twitter) which is very good. As far as the PPV is concerned, Smackdown Live is a superior brand to Raw and they proved it at their last PPV. They proved that their writers are better than Raw’s if that makes any sense. It just baffles me that any old timer can return and get a title shot right away. All you have to prove is that you were a big name like Brock when he returned, The Rock when he returned, and now add Goldberg to that list. They have accomplished their mission in making the championship a joke, I just feel bad for the guys are constantly working all the time. So I am going to give WWE Fastlane an C for a final grade.

Akira Tozawa/Rich Swann def The Brian Kendrick/Noam Dar

Sasha Banks def Nia Jax

The Club def Enzo and Cass

Samoa Joe def Sami Zayn

Cesaro def Jinder Mahal

The Big Show def Rusev

Neville def Jack Gallagher

Roman Reigns def Braun Strowman

Bayley def Charlotte

Goldberg def Kevin Owens
