This past weekend the WWE hosted an amazing tournament that may not rival the Cruiserweight Classic, but it did it’s job with The WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. On the second day, all of the quarterfinal and semifinal matches were fought and there was time left in the program from the legendary Empress Ballroom in Blackpool. So, I wondered what was the WWE going to do and they surprised me with a non tournament match as Neville made his way to ringside. He immediately grabbed the microphone and whined about how not only did the WWE not include him in the Cruiserweight Classic and 205 Live, but that he was also left off of the UK Tournament. After a little more whining, Tommy End’s music hit the speakers and he made his way to the ring, the Anti-hero had arrived in the WWE and in the UK where he had made a name for himself. The two of them spent the beginning of the match trying to outsmart each other and Tommy would get the best of Neville with some vicious kicks that sent the King of the Cruiserweights reeling to the outside.
Neville was able to sucker Tommy to the outside where he would give him a boot to the face that would send Tommy to the mat. Neville was able to muster up some offense against End, but End is just so unpredictable especially when he nails you with a roundhouse kick after you had jumped off the top rope. In fact, his martial arts abilities and combinations were getting the best of Neville, but unfortunately he couldn’t keep the King of the cruiserweights down with every pin-fall attempt. Tommy would resort to trying high risk maneuvers one too many times as he was met at the top of the turnbuckle with a kick to the midsection that temporarily stunned him. Neville ever the opportunist would deliver a hurricanrana and follow that up with the devastating red arrow that would spell the end for Tommy End as Neville would score the pin-fall victory. Love him or hate him, you have to respect the new attitude from Neville as he is finding ways to win. This match only had me excited for what the future will hold with Tommy End going to NXT and more than likely Neville challenging Rich Swann for the Cruiserweight belt. I am giving the match an A- for a final grade.
